2025 MSAC Golf Championship

Cabell Midland has won the 2025 MSAC Golf Championship. Hurricane was the runner-up. Hurricane’s Carson O’Dell was Medalist and Player of the Year while George Washington’s Chastyn Viars was Girls Player of the Year. Cabell Midland’s Matt Stead was Coach of the Year. The annual tournament was held on Thursday, August 28th at Edgewood Country Club in Sissonville, WV. Full results are below:

2025 MSAC Girls Golf Championship

The MSAC held their 1st annual Girls only golf tournament on Wednesday Sept 10, 2025 at Big Bend Golf Course in Tornado WV.  Only 19 girls participated in the 12 school event.  George Washington,  Parkersburg and Parkersburg South competed in the 18 hole tournament while Parkersburg, Spring Valley and Woodrow Wilson competed in the 9-hole event. We were disappointed in the number of participants but not the quality. Our girls were encouraged to recruit female golfers from their respective schools for the future of the sport. Hopefully we’ll have female golf team championships in the WVSSAC and MSAC.

Top scores were: Chastyn Viars – George Washington medalist 74,  Jadyn Snodgrass – George Washington runner up 88, Addison Ayers – George Washington 97, Kamryn Stutler – George Washington 97, Tensley Heumann – George Washington 99,  Abby Long –  George Washington 99 and Kali Grueneberg – Parkersburg 106.

Others were: Alexis Bolen – George Washington 107, Bre Taylor – Parkersburg South 108, Mia Herron –  George Washington 113, Karsyn Marshall – Parkersburg South 119, Raylen Dawkins –  Parkersburg South 122, Brooklynn Nolen – George Washington – 137

Top 9-hole finishers were: Amelia Minter – Woodrow Wilson 56, Gracie Mullens –  Spring Valley –  63

 

2024 MSAC Golf Championship

Hurricane High School has won the 2024 MSAC Golf Championship. The tournament was held at Sleepy Hollow Golf Course in Hurricane on September 17th. Cabell Midland was the runner-up. Spring Valley’s Bailey Christian was Player of the Year while George Washington’s Scarlett Albertson was Girls Player of the Year. Sam O’Dell of Hurricane was named Coach of the Year. 2023 MSAC Golf Championship

Hurricane High School has won the 2023 MSAC Golf Championship. The tournament was held September 12th at Sleepy Hollow Golf Club in Hurricane. Cabell Midland finished second and George Washington third in the tournament.

Savannah Hawkins of Hurricane was named “Player of the Year”.
