The annual MSAC Varsity and Junior Varsity 7v7, Quarterback Skills, and Lineman Challenges will be held on June 20 and 21, 2025. The JV competitions will be held on Friday, June 20th at South Charleston High School beginning at 5 PM while the Varsity competitions will be on June 21st at Huntington High School beginning at 10 AM. Each school will enter 1 team into the competition. Pool play will consist of 3 games. A single elimination tournament will begin at 3pm. The Championship Game and 3rd Place Game will begin at 5:30pm.
The event will conclude at 6pm.
Rules:
1st place 20 pts. – 2nd place 16 pts. – 3rd place 12 pts. – 4th place 8 pts. – 5th place 6 pts. – 6th place 5 pts. – 7th place – 4 pts. – 8th place 3 pts. – 9th place 2 pts. – 10 place 1 pts.
1. Bench Press 205 lbs. or 185 lbs. (total weight multiplied by reps)
2. Farmers Walk 80 lbs. dumbbells 25 yards (timed event)
3. Tire Flip Relay 6 flips (timed event)
4. Obstacle Course Relay (timed event)
5. Med Ball Chest Pass Throw (total distance 5 throws)
6. Med Ball Reverse Overhead Heave (total distance 5 throws)
7. 60 yard Shuttle Relay on track (timed event)
8. Tug of War on track scored as follows:
a. 1st place 40 pts.
b. 2nd place 32 pts.
c. 3rd place 24 pts.
d. 4th place 16 pts.
e. 5th place 12 pts.
f. 6th place 10 pts.
g. 7th place 8 pts.
h. 8th place 6 pts.
i. 9th place 4 pts.

– Games will be 20 minutes in length on a rolling clock. Clock will be kept by the official field representative on the field. 10 min mark and 1 minute mark will be announced.
– QB has 4 seconds to deliver the ball, once the official reaches a count of 4, it is a sack.
– Each team will have one Time Out that can only be used in the last minute of regulation.
– In the event of an injured player, please remove the injured player from the field asap, if play is halted due to injury, both fields should pause and clock stopped. Clock will resume when play is resumed.
– There will be a maximum of 10 minutes between games.
– HEAD COACHES ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL PLAYERS AND COACHES CONDUCT AT ALL TIMES.
– SSAC rules will still apply. Any fighting will result in immediate ejection from both the game and the tournament.
– Two unsportsmanlike penalties will result in ejection from the day.
– In the event of an altercation, any player leaving the bench area will be removed from that game and the tournament.
– PARENTS OR ANY NON-SCHOOL AFFILIATED PERSONNEL ARE NOT ALLOWED ON THE FIELD, THE SIDELINES, OR WITHIN THE GATE EXCEPT FOR A MEDICAL EMERGENCY. VIOLATION OF THIS RULE, AND THE PERSON WILL BE ASKED TO EXIT THE PREMESIS.
– Games will start on the 40 yardline. A coinflip will determine choice of offense or defense to start the game.
– OVERTIME – In the event of a tie at the end of regulation, the team that did not choose at the beginning of the game will be given the choice of offense or defense for a 1 play sudden death from the 10 yardline.
– SCORING
o TD = 6 POINTS
o EXTRA POINT TRY FROM 5 YARDLINE = 1 POINT, FROM 10 YARDLINE = 2 POINTS
– 3 downs to achieve a first down. First downs are from the 40 , 25, and 10 yardlines.
– 1 hand touch
– Excessive force determined by the official is a personal foul.
– Offensive procedural penalties and OPI are loss of down.
– Defensive holding and DPI are 15 yard penalties and a first down.
– All other penalties are enforced by officials like 11 on 11 football.
– Interceptions are dead balls. No returns.
